Below Zero Winter Festival Sorrento Quay

July 29th - August 7th, 2016

While the temperature is dropping, things are hotting up at Hillarys Boat Harbour at Sorrento Quay with the new Below Zero Winter Festival set to kick off July 31st - August 7th. The Below Zero Winter Festival is like Fringe World by the sea (and about 15-20 degrees cooler!) with an epic line up of 25 live shows and 5 creative workshops, by home grown artists and peformers over 10 cool days with something for the whole family to enjoy.

Here are our recommendations for the Top 7 Events for the whole family not to be missed these shows and events all just $10 or less per person. 


Meet The Perth Mermaids - Friday 29th & Saturday 30th July @ 10am (for 2 hours)

Mermaid Amelia and Mermaid Jessica Pearl will be braving the cool winter waters to visit their human friends on land and enchant with bubbles, dancing and stories of their ocean adventures.

FREE. Roving Entertainment - no bookings required.



SPLAT! A Kids Game Show - Saturday 30th July @2pm

Splat! is a live comedy show made especially for kids; jam-packed with amazing feats of strength, crazy circus antics, loads of laughs and plenty of mess. 

We saw this one at Kids Wonderland in the July School holidays and it was absolutely hilarious. 

Suitable for kids 4 years+, tickets $10

Funny Balloon Time - Sunday 31st July @11am

Each highly-experienced circus/cabaret artist is dressed to the nines in brightly coloured costumes and each presents their skills in a story inspired by the fun of a simple balloon. 

Funny Balloon Time also features an audience participation game that encourages teamwork and cooperation.

Suitable for all ages, tickets $10

Lil Darlings of Vaudeville - Sunday 31st July @2pm

A variety of 4 highlyskilled professional performers reveal their talents on stage, while Magnus keeps the audience engaged in between each act. 

The highlight is the participation game, where 3 children are invited on stage to share the spotlight. Each child receives a small prize

Miss Red Lasso Show - Saturday 6th August @2pm

Miss Red Lasso Show Saddle up for fun as Miss Red presents a world class lasso, comedy, club spinning and juggling show suitable for all ages.

Suitable for all ages, tickets $5

Mr Ricochet Show - Sunday 7th August @11am

Whether it’s the perplexing moves of the Diabolo, the crazy juggling or the zany quick-witted ‘fall out of your seat laughing’ comedy - Mr. Ricochet is guaranteed to captivate, amaze and leave the audience wanting more!

Suitable for all ages, tickets $10

Famous Sharron Make Your Own Adventures - Sunday 7th August @ 2pm

Famous Sharron is very, very famous – you might have seen her on TV, at Kids Wonderland or on stage in the City of Perth.

Being so famous she gets to go on great adventures and meet all sorts of characters, and now she wants to take you along for the ride!

Suitable for kids 8 years and under.  Tickets $10

If you can manage to get out out fhe house without the kids, whether it be on a girls night or out with your partner on a date night you don't want to miss Janelle Koenig in Mummy-Fied (definitely not suitable for kids, 18years+). Mummy-Fied by Janelle Koenig - Friday 29th July @ 8.30pm

Janelle Koenig (MIX94.5 and The Sunday Times) is a real mum. The kind that believes tinned spaghetti is a food group. 

Through signature saucy tales and songs hear how Janelle survives a FIFO partner, two kids….and Thornlie, in a show about parenthood that’s not suitable for children. Read the Kids Around Perth Mummy-Fied review below.
