We are lucky to live in a wonderful city that hosts so many free family friendly events, month after month. Here are the top FREE July Perth Family Events, so you can enjoy a day or night out with the family that won't break the bank.


Saturday 1st - Perth Eid Festival Mirrabooka

Enjoy a full day of fun, activities, unity and tranquillity of Eid Al-fitr. Experience a variety of multicultural food stalls, entertainment, children's rides & activities, face painting and henna, camel rides, adults rides and activities and for the first time ever, an exclusive addition to the festival is FIREWORKS! Saturday 1st to Sunday 16th – Winter Rollerland, Forrest Chase Perth City

Bring the children along to enjoy the novelty of roller skating in the heart of the City at Winter Rollerland. Suitable for children aged 3 to 12, this is the perfect school holiday activity. This is a free event but tickets must be obtained in advance to participate. Session times run between 10:30 to 2:40pm daily. Saturday 1st July to Saturday 15th July – Emu Dreaming, Wanneroo Museum

Emu has large tracks, big eggs, and a place in the stars. Discover more about its significance in Aboriginal culture with our new display and exciting school holiday program from Saturday 1st July 2017. This school holidays have fun at the Wanneroo Museum with emu craft activities, breaking the Emu Dreaming Treasure Hunt code and finding out more about the history of your community. http://www.wanneroo.wa.gov.au

Monday 3rd to Sunday 9th – Peppa Pig Live Shows, Karrinyup Shopping Centre

Peppa Pig, George Pig and her friend Sammy are live on stage in Peppa Pigs ‘Taking Turns’ show at Karrinyup these school holidays! Join them as they play together, jump in Muddy Puddles, play dinosaurs, make pancakes, and take a ride in Daddy Pig’s car. Monday 3rd July - Saturday 8th July: Live shows are on at 9am, 10am and 11am. Meet & Greets are at 12:00pm daily. Sunday 9th July: live shows are on at 11am, 12pm and 1pm. Monday 3rd to Sunday 16th – Under the Sea, Garden City Shopping Centre Booragoon

Discover what goes on under the sea as the Promotions Court transforms into an underwater adventure, complete with intriguing deep sea creatures and a kelp forest. Children are invited to get crafty by creating their own deep sea helmet or deep sea Anglerfish mask. The enchanting discovery continues in the activity zone with a life-sized sea-inspired Snakes & Ladders, a magnetic table matching game and information panels with fun facts about the ocean. 10am til 3pm daily. www.gardencity.com.au

Tuesday 4th – NAIDOC Celebration Day, Bob Blackburn Reserve Seville Grove

This event is an all-inclusive celebration and an opportunity for all residents to take part in an array of activities. There will be performances by a range of well- known local indigenous musicians including The Merindas, Hot Likwid, Lee West and Mungart Yongah Aboriginal Dancers. There'll also be entertainment for the kids and free sausage sizzle. 10am to 8pm. www.armadale.wa.gov.au/

Tuesday 4th, Thursday 6th, Tuesday 11th and Thursday 13th – Dream Valley, Cathedral Square Perth

Cathedral Square is coming to life these school holidays with Dream Valley! Allow the kids to dream and be wowed by the community dream catcher & bubble tent! Grab your family and friends and come join us at Cathedral Square these July school holidays with a range of exciting activities, free of charge in Perth’s historic heart. Activities include free dreamcatcher making, dreamtime stories, arts and craft, creative art workshops and many more! Thursday 6th – NAIDOC Family Day, Ashfield Reserve

The day celebrates Aboriginal language, culture and art with live performances, hands-on fun for all ages giveaways, and more! Join Derek Nannup of Yanchep National Park for his didgeridoo and dance demonstrations, and experience bush tucker and Noongar Culture demos by Bindi Bindi Dreaming. You can even pick up a brush and join the crew from Urban Indigenous in painting a huge community canvas.  Other attractions include native animals fromCritters Up Close, rides, and the ever-popular Sports and Youth zones. Entirely Free! 10:30am to 3pm. http://www.bassendean.wa.gov.au/events/2017-naidoc-family-day/321

Friday 7th – Perth Pinwheels, Council House

In celebration of winter's colours and fond childhood memories, visit the Perth Pinwheel installation featured in the gardens outside of Council House. Children are encouraged to play and interact with the pinwheels, providing hours of amusement. Each child is permitted to take one pinwheel home to continue the splash of colour this winter. 9am to 6pm. https://www.visitperthcity.com/events/perth-pinwheels

Wednesday 19th to Saturday 29th – Brookfield Winter Lights Festival, Perth City

The much anticipated, visually stunning Brookfield Winter Lights Festival is back for its fifth season. This year, the program is bigger and brighter, with more events and performances. Brookfield Place will be transformed into a journey of art and light comprising a host of eye-catching events and installations. Daily from 6pm to 11pm. brookfieldplaceperth.com

Sunday 30th – National Tree Day, Various places around WA

National Tree Day is an opportunity to do something positive for your local environment and community and to reconnect with nature. National Tree Day can include a whole range of different activities including planting trees and native plants & bushes, caring for trees and plants by removing weeds, information sessions, bushwalks and more.
