Fun Things To Do in Perth City

So you've caught the train into the city, the kids are excited you get there and you're wondering what to do next? There are heaps of great things to do with the kids in the city, so much so you'll probably have to come back another day to see and do it all! There are some great free and cheap things to do in the city and Northbridge, and because a day in the city can be very tiring we'll show you some great places to sit down and enjoy something yummy to eat!

Water Labyrinth Forrest Chase

This interactive water feature is great fun for the kids. Make sure you take a change of clothes as they will get very wet. It runs from 8-8pm unless there is an event in Forrest Place.  Find a link to days its NOT running in the KAP Review

The Shake Shack

Give the kids the treat of a milkshake made from all their favourite treats. Just  a short stroll from the Water Labyrinth in the Carillon Arcade

Northbridge Piazza

Big outdoor movie screen, see Free Flicks for Kids Saturday nights, and enjoy the Northbridge Piazzarama on the first Sunday of the month between Sept & May

James St Amphitheatre

Located in the Perth Cultural Centre Northbridge near the State Library of WA, this is a great place to stop and have something to eat and drink. Kids will love watching the big screen and running around in the large amphitheatre, in the school holidays they show lots of short kids films.

Perth Cultural Centre Playspace

This amazing FREE playspace is right outside the front door to the museum and the kids will love it.

DFES Education & Heritage Centre - open Tues - Thurs, learn all about Perth's fire and emergency services past and present. Dress up like a fire fighter, ride the fire pole and enjoy lots of other interactive displays.

Perth State Library

The Place at the Perth State Library is located in Northbridge near the Perth Museum, parents and children can read stories and do activities. No bookings required and no fee for entry.

Northbridge Swamp

Look for frogs in this beautiful swamp located in the Perth Cultural Centre across from the Perth Museum

Get a photo with the kanagaroos on St Georges Tce

You can find the kangaroo statues outside the Supreme Court Gardens.
