Thursday, December 1st

The traditional day here in Australia to put up the Christmas tree, so why not take a visit to a real Christmas tree farm in Perth and choose a tree to take home and decorate. Find out where you can get a real Christmas tree in Perth here

Friday, December 2nd

A visit to Santaland in Myer Perth is a mustdo. It's a magical, free Christmas experience with a fantastic little train ride. Saturday, December 3rd

In its 45th year running, the RAC Christmas Pageant is a Perth Christmas Tradition.  This year the streets of Perth will light up with an exciting display of new floats, old Christmas favourites and entertainers. Starting from 7:30pm, the Pageant will begin at the corner of William St and St Georges Tce and make its way down St Georges Tce to Ozone Reserve. Read the Kids Around Perth Christmas Pageant Review here.

Sunday, December 4th

Hop in the car or go for walk, and go Christmas Lights hunting. Find out where the best Perth Christmas light displays are by alphbetically by suburb here. Also find out how you can use the Kids Around Perth App to find Christmas Lights near you and get a voice navigated map to take you there.

Monday, December 5th

Write up the Christmas present wish list and visit one of the many Santas around Perth. There is usually no obligation to purchase photos and some even give out free gifts! Find out where you can meet and have photos with Santa at these Perth Shopping Centres

Tuesday, December 6th

Go on a nature walk and collect materials to make some nature Christmas decorations. Find some Christmas Nature Craft inspiration here.

Wednesday, December 7th

Join in at the FREE Bunnings Christmas Family night from 6pm to 8pm. On offer will be rides, workshops, a sausage sizzle and more. Find whats on at your local store here.

Thursday, 8th December

Take the kids to paint their own Christmas decoration at one of Perth’s ceramic cafes. You’ll get a decoration to treasure forever and some quality time with the kids. Find Perth's Art Cafes here

Friday, 9th December

Give the kids a northern hemisphere Christmas experience with a special Christmas Rug Rats on Ice Snow Session. Build a snow man and enjoy morning tea with Santa.  9-12pm. $25 per child includes photo with Santa, morning tea, lolly bag and a present from Santa. 

Saturday, 10th December

The City of Cockburn is hosting Christmas on the Green, with lots of free festive fun at MacFaull Park, Pomfret Road, Spearwood from 5pm to 8pm. The event will include:

  • Fairy Queen Caroline Show
  • Christmas carols by Class Act Christmas Carolles and A Capella Choir
  • Waterslide
  • Giant gift snow box
  • Appearance by Santa
  • Switching on the Christmas tree lights

Sunday, 11th December

A special new event this year sees Forrest Place turned into a grassed Santa’s Down Under Workshop. Kids can make a wind-chime gift or gumnut tree ornament, decorate a Christmas cupcake and get a visit with Santa. Runs from 10am to 9pm.

Monday, 12th December

Spend the morning at your local library picking out some Christmas books to read and take home. Find out more about your Local Library here.

Tuesday, 13th December

It’s always better to give than receive, so visit your nearest Kmart store to place a gift for someone in need under the Wishing Tree. Find out more about the Kmart Wishing Tree here. Another giving idea is to head to one of Hawaiian's Food Giving boxes to donate to Food Bank WA. Find a list of Giving Boxes here

Wednesday, 14th December

Do you have family and friends who are hard to buy presents for? Why not head out to the Swan Valley to browse the Christmas chocolate selection at Whistler Chocolate Co. While you’re there, take advantage of the 2 for 1 coffee Wednesdays* deal.

Thursday, 15th December

The annual Christmas at Lake Monger Festival is on again this year. There will be kids’ entertainment, rides, and musical performances with the finale of Christmas Carols and switching on of the Christmas lights. 4pm – 8pm Lake Monger Reserve, Wembley.

Friday, 16th December

Lights in the Heights is one of Perth's best FREE annual Christmas events, and is held at C3HH Padbury. A night out of an amazing display of lights, Christmas trees, kids activities and family fun, with something bigger and better every year. You need to register for a free ticket to enter. Saturday, 17th December

Enjoy a free screening of the Christmas movie Arthur Christmas at the Northbridge Piazza. Bring along a picnic to enjoy while you watch the movie, or grab some takeaway from some of the nearby outlets. Movie starts at 5:30pm. Read the Kids Around Perth Northbrigde Piazza Review

Sunday, 18th December

For the first time in its 72 year history the IGA Carols by Candlelight hosted by the City of Perth will be a FREE event. Gates at Langley Park open at 1pm, with kids’ rides and entertainment available. The main concert will begin at 7:30pm. Bring along a picnic and enjoy a sing along to all your favourite carols. Monday, 19th December

Visit one of the large, lit up Christmas trees of Perth at either Kings Square in Fremantle or Elizabeth Quay in Perth.

Fremantle – The magnificent Moreton Bay Fig in Kings Square comes to life with thousands of fairy lights (lights on from December 2nd)

Elizabeth Quay - Western Australia’s tallest Christmas tree will be displayed at Elizabeth Quay, adorned with 55,000 sparkling lights, representing the number of Western Australians who have used Lifeline WA this year. From Dec 2nd to Jan 2nd.

Tuesday, 20th December

Head to Forrest Place in Perth City with the whole family and experience a traditional Christmas Nativity. This event is free with pre-show entertainment beginning at 6:30pm. Stay afterwards to witness the Christmas projection lights on the GPO.

Wednesday, 21st December

Head to your local shopping centre for some Christmas Activites. Contact your local centre to find out what's on. Ocean Keys Clarkson has a Christmas Craft Station daily between 1st-24th December with a different craft to make each day. This is also a Shop and Drop, so you can leave your children (3-12yrs) for up to 1.5hrs so you can get some last minute shopping done.

Thursday, 22nd December

Every Thursday and Friday at 12pm in December, Ikea Perth will show you how to make a gingerbread house and demonstrate options for the dough and other delicacies. Afterwards, you can book the kids into Smaland (4-10yrs) for up to an hour, and browse through the Christmas Vinter 2016 range to get some last minute shopping done. Friday, 23rd December

Head to your favourite beach and make a Australian "Snow"man. Bring along a Santa hat, scarf, sun glasses, carrots etc for props, and see what you can collect from the beach to bring your sandy snowman to life.
