The Bird and Fish Place Wattle Grove, near Kalamunda, is a great free thing to do with kids in Perth - you just have to put it on your list of things to do in Perth, the kids will love it. Great school holiday outing too!
We were given a tip off about the Perth Dinosaur Sighting by a Kids Around Perth reader so I wasn't sure exactly what I was looking for when I headed out to find this little gem in Perth. After asking at a couple of places I finally found it just before it was closing.
Once you know where you are going you can't miss it, as you drive down Welshpool Road East, just before you start to head up the road to the hills you'll see the massive dinosaurs on your left hand side.
The Bird And Fish Place is essentially a bird, fish and plant supply shop, but they also sell an amazing and "big" range of garden ornaments. And when I say a "big" range I mean there are lots of them and some of them are huge!
There are dinosaurs, giraffes, elephants, sheep, penguins... you name it they have it. So if you are looking for a unique garden ornament this is your place. Unfortunately there are no prices available on line - so you'll just have to grab a coffee on the way - and wander through the beautiful garden to check them out yourself. Take your camera the kids will love having their photos taken with all the life size creatures!
