The Ridge Park and Playground Byford is spread across two different areas over 1.7 hectares with a short walk approx 150m between them.
The first section located on Mortar Pass, is a nature based play area set amongst beautiful bushland surroundings.
This section of the playground is better suited to older kids with a double cable flying fox that includes an all abilities seat.
The rest of the playground features nature based play including a wooden fort, balancing logs, mud pie making station and two concrete slides surrounded by rocks.
A set of swings is located alongside the large picnic shelter, seating and BBQs and there is a water fountain here also.
A large basket swing with seating alongside.
A short walk (approx 150m) along Mortar Pass towards Military Pass is another playground, suited to toddlers and younger children, with a cute train theme.
"Train tracks" and little trains and carriages surround the outside of the playground. Little ones can drive the train, play with activities and sit aboard the train and enjoy something to eat at the little table and seats.
In the centre is a play structure suitable for younger children with some rope challenges and a small slide. A bridge with tunnel under neath and balancing logs and a basked swing are also located in the playground.
There are no toilets or BBQs in this section but there is shaded seating and wooden platforms around the park to sit under the trees and enjoy a packed lunch or snack.
The Ridge Park and Playground Byford features something for kids of all ages and is set amongst a beautiful natural setting that is fun to explore.
