Top Free November Family Events Perth

We are lucky to live in a wonderful city that hosts so many free family friendly events, month after month. Here are the top FREE November 2018 Perth Family Events, so you can enjoy a day or night out with the family that won't break the bank.

FEATURED: Sunday 4th - Little Hands Festival: Kidchella, Applecross

Bring the kids and join in the free family event at Tompkins Park, Applecross. There will be arts and crafts activities, amusement rides, kids DJ, glitter tattoos, face painting, bouncy castles, giant bubbles and plenty of food trucks to take care of hungry tummies. Community safety will be interwoven throughout the festival, with Constable Care making a visit along with other community and safety groups manning information stalls. The kids can even climb aboard a police car and a fire truck complete with sirens and flashing lights. 10am - 2pm. Tompkins Park, Dunkley Ave, Applecross.

Thursday 1st to Sunday 4th - Kaleidoscope Festival

Kaleidoscope Festival 2018 will be a vibrant visual feast for all the senses. Combining exceptional illumination, art, installations, music and food, the program for this year is set to be huge! The festival is free, family friendly and accessible for everyone to enjoy. Over four evenings, Joondalup’s City Centre will become an interactive living, breathing entertainment hub – a true ‘City of the Future’. Music and food will commence at 5pm with lights on from 7.30pm to 10.30pm and this year’s event food offering will be even bigger than last, accommodating all taste buds and dietary requirements. 5pm - 10:30pm. Friday 2nd - Big Light Out, Ascot

As the sun goes down, watch Garvey Park come alive and burst with colour, light and sound! This event will see local artists and designers use modern technologies to indulge the senses and create an illumination like no other. Big Light Out will take you on ‘A Twist through Time’ and explore the best music of the decades with a laser, light and effects show that is sure to leave you awed. 6:30pm - 9:30pm. Garvey Park, Fauntleroy Ave, Ascot.

Saturday 3rd -  Freedom Fairy Annual Picnic, Kalamunda

Join the Freedom Fairies as Stirk Park is transformed  into a fairytale wonderland full of activities for people of all ages.  Bring your own picnic and everything else is FREE: including face painting, arts and crafts, bubbleology, storytelling, games, henna, glitter art, hair braiding, treasure hunts, recycled robots, tug of war, nature and sensory play! There is something for everyone!  10am - 2pm. Stirk Park, Elizabeth St, Kalamunda.

Friday 9th and Saturday 10th - Skate @ Stirk, Kalamunda

You won’t want to miss Stirk Park come to life with the addition of a pop-up ice-skating rink on Friday 9 and Saturday 10 November! Bring the whole family and enjoy free ice skating sessions for anyone over the age of 3. For the younger members of the family, there's even a dedicated kid's skating session on Saturday from 10am - 1pm, designed for 3-6 year olds to have the rink all to themselves! 5pm - 8pm Friday and 10am - 8pm Saturday, Stirk Park, Elizabeth St, Kalamunda.

Saturday 10th - Stargate Atwell Family Fun Day

Head on down to Stargate Atwell on Saturday 10th November for your next shopping trip and enjoy a fantastic family day out too! There are loads of fun activities for the kids including Balloon Workshops, Face Painting, Glitter Tattoos and a Bouncy Castle! There’s also plenty of other great cash prize giveaways throughout the day, so make sure you come on down to Stargate Atwell to join in the fun! 10am - 2pm. Stargate Shopping Centre, 129 Lydon Blvd, Atwell.

 Saturday 10th - Harvest in the Grove, Baldivis

Everything you love about family-friendly community living will be on show at the inaugural Harvest in the Grove. Get a taste for local produce, Enjoy the arts and crafts of local market stalls, Kick back with live entertainment, Bring the kids with free children's activities, and Gardening workshop with Chris Ferreira. Bring the family, invite your friends - and enjoy the lifestyle you love thanks to Baldivis Grove. This is a FREE event for all to enjoy. 10am - 1pm. 4 Amberley Drive, Baldivis.

Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th - Open House Perth

Open House Perth is a free, two-day festival that celebrates the best of architecture and design in Perth and its surrounds. It gives visitors and residents unprecedented, behind-the-scenes, access to Perth’s best places and spaces - most of which are usually off limits to the public! Saturday 10th - Fusion Festival, Beckenham

The City of Gosnells is proud to present its annual multicultural celebration, the Fusion Food and Culture Festival presented by Act-Belong Commit. An exciting fusion of diverse cultures brings Mills Park to life with global arts and crafts, live multicultural performances, children’s activities, a youth zone, carnival rides, tasty food and a spectacular firework display. 3pm - 9pm. Mills Park, Brixton St, Beckenham.

Sunday 11th - Rhapsody in the Park, Kewdale

Bring your picnic rug and indulge in a toe-tapping evening of classic tunes as we celebrate the music of Queen. Make sure to bring those dancing shoes, because Jake Dennis and his jazz band, Rein Trio and Bohemian Rhapsody Tribute are sure to have you up dancing in no time. Enjoy a bite from the tasty food trucks and relax in the park as We Will Rock You! This is a free event and no tickets are required. 4pm - 7pm. Tomato Lake, Oats St, Kewdale.

 Saturday 17th - Groundswell Surf & Skate Festival, Scarborough

Scarborough’s ultimate youth festival, Groundswell is returning on 17 November for its 5th year, bigger and better than ever. 2018 will see Groundswell grow from a ½ day surf and community event to a FREE full day Surf, Skate and Music Festival, running from 8am- 5pm in the Scarborough Amphitheatre and Skate Park. When you’re not catching all the epic action on the water or in the skate bowl, the festival grounds will be a buzz with loads of other FREE activities to experience including; tarp surfing, beach games, live bands and DJs, pop up market stalls and loads of mouth-watering food and drink vendors. So, gathering family and friends to experience the true Scarborough surf and skate lifestyle! 8am - 5pm. Scarborough Beach Amphitheatre, The Esplanade, Scarborough.

Saturday 17th to Wednesday 23rd January - Animaze, Fremantle

For the first time, Fremantle Arts Centre presents a contemporary art exhibition specifically for kids. Animaze is about amazing animals of all sorts, where kids can wander and explore the wonderful world of animals and art. With the work of more than 40 artists, specially designed play spaces, animal story readings and hands-on kids’ workshops, Animaze is a full-on animal art safari for kids and families. The exhibition runs until Wednesday 23rd January and is free entry. 10am - 5pm daily. Fremantle Arts Centre, 1 Finnerty St, Fremantle.

Sunday 18th - Muddy Hands Festival, Wilson

The Muddy Hands Festival is an event to encourage children and families to enjoy playing outdoors and being among nature, bringing unstructured play into their everyday lives and enjoy City of Canning parks. Kids will enjoy building cubbies and forts; take part in mud play, create nature crafts, learn about recycling and loads more fun activities to get those hands muddy and those imaginations stretched! This is a free event but registration is required. 10am - 3pm. Kent St weir, Kent St, Wilson.

Sunday 18th - Mindarie Festival

The 22nd annual Mindarie Festival is almost here! The Mindarie Festival is a free family-friendly event celebrating our local community. It’s a safe, fun and exciting day for the whole family! There will be Artisan market stalls, Street food stalls, Roving performers, Free kids activities, Kid's carnival rides, Live bands on two stages and DJ's. 12pm - 5pm. The Marina, 33 Ocean Falls Boulevard, Mindarie.

Saturday 24th - Launch of Summer Fireworks, Hillarys

Sorrento Quay Boardwalk’s annual Launch of Summer Fireworks are returning bigger and better in 2018. Entertainment will be live from 6pm with the fireworks set to launch at approx. 8pm.  6pm - 9pm. Hilarys Boat Harbour, 58 Southside Drive, Hilarys.

Sunday 25th - East Fremantle’s George St Festival

East Fremantle’s George Street Festival celebrates the unfolding story of East Fremantle with local residents and the wider community. In keeping with the ethos of the local community there will be a strong focus on environmental sustainability. There will be free entertainment & activities including music on the main stage, busking along the street, roving street artists, sustainability support, healthy living demonstrations and the #eastfreo festival themed photo booth. Plus baby animal farm, bouncy castles, face painting plus healthy cooking demonstrations, community treasure hunt and upcycled craft for the kids. 11am - 6pm. George St, East Fremantle.

Tuesday 27th - Playgroup WA Annual Fun Day, Beckenham

As another year comes to a close, Playgroup WA will again host its free family fun day for kids 0-5 years, celebrating all things PLAY. They will be providing plenty of sensory and cognitive play activities with many other exhibitors and entertainers coming along to put on activities galore! Some of those include: Messy play, Stage performances, Face painting, Bouncy castles, Baby animals, African Drumming, Baby Zone, Quiet Zone and more to be confirmed! Event is free but registration is required. 10am - 1pm. Mills Park, Brixton St, Beckenham.

Free Outdoor Cinema Events

Take advantage of the warmer evenings and head to one of the free outdoor movies being screened around Perth during November. Bring along a picnic for the ultimate cheap night out.
